Comprehensive On-Site Production Analysis

Putting paint on a finished product without first studying its composition, manufacturing details, end-user requirements, and regulatory compliance codes could be a lawsuit or product return waiting to happen.

At Marcus Paint, we realize there are just as many variables in what you make, as in how you make it. That’s why our experienced Service Technicians conduct a detailed On-Site Production Analysis before we even suggest a coating solution.

This is not an expensive add-on, but an important value-added service we provide all our clients, to ensure we create the perfect coating for your product.

Phase I – Analyzing Your On-Site Manufacturing Process

Marcus Paint’s on-site Service Technicians not only make a detailed evaluation of your finishing process; they analyze your entire manufacturing operation to determine each unique condition that directly impacts the performance of your coating.

  • Plant environment & conditions
  • Design tolerances
  • Process line speeds
  • Substrate & Pre-treat specifications
  • Equipment capabilities
  • Transfer efficiencies
  • Oven temperature
  • Curing time & limitations
  • Post-application handling & assembly factors
  • Packaging requirements
  • Product transportation & market delivery
  • Employee training and procedures
  • Safety/environmental considerations

Phase II – Analyzing Product Specifications & Performance Characteristics

Once we have compiled data based on your Phase I On-site Manufacturing Process Analysis, we work directly with your Production and Engineering Teams to determine your unique product specifications.

Our Technicians evaluate your coating needs across a full spectrum of performance criteria and industry-specific requirements. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Product application
  • Appearance uniformity
  • Color consistency
  • Fading & weatherability (UV resistance)
  • Chemical resistance
  • Abrasion resistance
  • Adhesion resistance
  • Corrosion resistance
  • Humidity resistance
  • Flammability factors
  • Hardness, impact & durability
  • Per unit cost
  • Regulatory compliance issues (VOC, HAP, etc.)

After we have examined these factors in detail, we can begin the process of Custom Formulation.
